Komatsu Arizona Proving Grounds

M3 provided full Architectural, Engineering, and Construction Management services for the Komatsu’s Arizona Proving Grounds project which encompasses over 600 acres in Sahuarita, Arizona for research and development of mining equipment.  The main facility includes a 69,000 square feet main prototype shop facility consisting of a truck shop, light vehicle service area, warehouse, training and office areas.  The building has a 78-foot-high ridge with two 50-ton bridge cranes.  The facility has visitor and staff parking, haul truck parking, haul truck wash facility, and water treatment building.

M3 design also included the civil road design for a vehicle testing track to support Komatsu autonomous vehicle testing for haul trucks and other mining equipment.
