Cananea Lab

Buenavista, as part of M3’s design and engineering for mineral processing facilities at Grupo Mexico mining operations in Cananea, Mexico we were tasked to design a standalone laboratory that would consolidate laboratory functions for Concentrator 2 and other parts of the mine site. M3 developed design with careful consideration of the functional spaces and operational needs of the lab users and program needs. This lab included sample prep dry laboratory area including dust collection system, sample analysis with AA and Plasma spectrometry analysis, fire assay, metallurgy, and wet lab areas.

This 14,000 square foot laboratory was designed with integral color CMU block that enhanced the aesthetics and durability of facility on mine site. This building was located on the Administration platform area that was site adjacent to exterior plaza area and other administration facilities.

This project was designed as an EPCM project and included all architectural and engineering disciplines. M3 was involved from early design programming through construction and commissioning of the facility. M3 procured all building materials and lab equipment for this facility as part of effort.
